Something you may not know about me is that I absolutely love all things Sherlock Holmes. I’ve always been a bookworm, and I was completely obsessed with the books while I was at uni. When the BBC series starring Benedict Cumberbatch came out, I couldn’t help but binge watch every single one. Funnily enough, I also think of Sherlock Holmes as a very stylish character, and I always associate him with a tailored, yet oversized menswear coat – with the collar up no less. I like to think my outfit is a modern, feminine take on the classic detective’s signature look.
Under the infamous trench I chose a classic blue button up with a menswear vibe, and paired it with light wash, distressed denim. I love the way the relaxed, ripped bottoms counter the more structured top. Of course, I had to complete my outfit with my favorite Gucci loafers that Mckenzie surprised me with for our anniversary this past year (check out my vlog from that day)! They are such a chic staple, and they work with almost every outfit. To make the look a bit more feminine, I went with easy tousled waves and soft natural makeup. My styling tip? Tuck your hair into your collar for a sleek final touch to your look. It makes any outfit with a coat look that much more chic.
