Embroidery is everywhere this Fall – from kimonos or Spanish style jackets, to rich accessories like velvet handbags, and every type of shoe possible (boots, mules, heels, you name it). This trend is great to incorporate when you want to add an extra dose of color or texture to your look, and doesn’t mean a total wardrobe overhaul. The thicker and more statement the embroidery, the better (check out the chunky stitch here on my mules), or look for tapestry and cross stitch with a decadent Renaissance vibe.
This bag in particular is a major statement piece for Fall: it takes classic leopard print to the next level and combines it with winter florals. Although this is definitely a stand-out piece, the basic structure and mix of colors help it blend seamlessly with a number of easy outfits: think little black dress and leather jacket, or jeans, loafers and a simple roll neck sweater…done! I added another unique embroidered item to this look, these elegant polka-dot mules from a cool brand I just discovered, Sanayi.
My Fall styling tip? Pair your intricate, embroidered pieces with warm, fall tones and a dark red lip. I wore slouchy satin joggers (so comfy!) and a simple copper, off the shoulder top. This draws attention to your ornate accessories to make them really pop. Get my look and similar pieces below.
