Springtime Sips: Iced Oolong Tea With A Kick

The weather has started to turn in LA, and that means switching from red wine to refreshing cocktails! While I usually go for tequila, I was inspired to make this vodka-based iced tea lemonade, using this delicious Oolong tea from my friend Nicole’s new luxury tea company, Kollo.

While I don’t personally know much about tea, you can definitely tell the difference in taste with Kollo’s brews – it’s handmade with a lot of love. I chose the Oolong flavor to mix in with this recipe, as it has subtle hints of honeysuckle and stone fruit. It’s grown and hand harvested at 1000 meter high hilltops, and its longer oxidation process makes it smooth and buttery.

If you love Arnold Palmers like I do, then you’ll love this mix – it’s like the naughty older sister with a boozy kick (which an American friend of mine told me is actually called a John Daly, but I prefer to call it a Naughty Iced Tea Lemonade!). And so easy – see how to make it below. Cheers!

Ingredients:
(makes 1 cocktail)

1.5 oz vodka
4 oz iced Oolong tea
Tsp lemon
Tsp honey
1 bunch of mint leaves

Combine all liquid ingredients and shake. Pour over ice and a loose handful of mint leaves. Add more honey and lemon to taste. Garnish with a lemon wedge and mint leaves. Enjoy!
