4 Steps to Tousled, Undone Hair, Inspired By Rebecca Minkoff’s Runway

As part of my NYFW series with TRESemmé, I got an exclusive sneak peek at how hair legend Orlando Pita created a Patty Smith-esque, undone look that complemented the tasseled knee boots, long printed gowns, and patterned ponchos at Rebecca Minkoff’s incredibly chic show.

Lead stylist for TRESemmé, Jeanie Syfu, showed me how to get recreate this look at home in 4 easy steps. Check them out below, and don’t forget to watch the video:

STEP 1: Get a mattiefied, undone texture with some quick spritz’s of sea salt spray (genius moment: this can go into dry or wet hair).

STEP 2: Layer in a root lifting cream (like Max the Volume) over the sea salt spray for added definition.

STEP 3: Start blow-drying and scrunching, with your hands. Then, use your flat iron to tousle hair a bit more by flicking your wrist back and forth.

STEP 4: Lock it all in with the Youth Boost Voluminous Hold Hairspray.
