Now, I wouldn’t consider myself a chef by any means, but I do love thoughtful details and inspirational ideas in the kitchen, as well as the closet. I stumbled across citrus salt recently and was enchanted by how much flavor it added to food, and let’s be honest, the artisanal charm of it! It was quite a simple little DIY, and I highly recommend making your own, either for yourself or as a thoughtful gift.
1 1/2 cups sea salt (a 9oz box of Maldon flaky sea salt is perfect)
2-3 lemons or assorted citrus fruits
First, preheat your oven to 150 degrees and zest your citrus. (Microplane makes a great zester, but a cheese grater will do in a pinch).
Remove your citrus sea salt and let it cool. Seal it in your jar and store indefinitely.
