“What’s your strategy for Black Friday shopping, apart from hiding under the covers?”
With Black Friday and so many other end-of-year sales fast approaching, this is an important question to think about. You want to take advantage of the best deals, but at the same time not waste money on things you don’t need simply because it’s on sale. For Black Friday shopping, I stick to classics. I always take an inventory of my wardrobe and think of what fall staples I might be missing. Make a mental note of fall trends you should look out for while shopping – comfy jogger pants, oversized chunky knit sweaters, and wide brim hats are some good ones to stock up on this season.

“Office parties: what do I wear to look fun and festive, but still within the realm of professional?”
A metallic mini skirt is perfect for all your upcoming holiday parties. Since it’s a work setting, you don’t want to wear a mini skirt with something tight and revealing on top – a cashmere v neck sweater is always classy, and this oversized fit makes it chic. Throw on a pair of fun statement heels for a little extra flair!

“What’s a nice hostess gift that’s chic and affordable?”
A chic and easy hostess gift I’ll be giving this season is a beauty set and macaroons – I think it’s such a cute idea to get macaroons that match the colors of the beauty products. For a hostess gift, you want to get something that is special and just for her – we all know how stressful hosting a holiday party can be. Loving these new shades from Joe Fresh – they’re perfect for any season. For the fashionista hostess, my style bible Front Roe is a fun and easy gift!

“How do you make the holidays feel festive in sunny places like LA?”
I make sure to take advantage of the few cold days that we have and wear lots of fun layers. Dark nails, red lips and cozy scarves get me in a holiday mood. A pumpkin spice latte always helps too!
“What’s the most meaningful holiday gift you’ve ever received?”
It was a package my granny gave me, full of very old letters, photographs and stories from my family’s past, going back about 200 years. She had carefully annotated every picture, describing my ancestors. I found it so fascinating. The most special was a sepia photograph of my great great grandmother Louise, who I’m named after.
“I’m planning a holiday party at home. Apart from spiking the eggnog, need tips for a successful soiree!”
When decorating for a holiday party, pick a color scheme. Are you going for cool winter metallics and glitter, or rich and warm fall tones like burgundy, rusts and browns? Handmade floral arrangements and centerpieces always add a touch of soul to any party – look up an easy DIY!
“I have an 8-year-old niece who loves fashion already. What are some of the cutest kids trends right now?”
Buying gifts for the little ones is so much fun! I love seeing a grown up fall trend adopted for kids – this cute faux fur coat for instance. A mini fashionista could certainly appreciate such a statement piece!
Happy shopping!
