It’s officially the last few weeks of my pregnancy, and while we’re so excited to meet our little girl, Mackenzie and I are also enjoying these last few moments of being just the two of us. If you guys follow me on Insta stories, you probably saw that I’ve been terribly sick over the holidays, so I wasn’t able to do as much with him or our families as I would’ve liked. Now that I’m feeling better, we’re planning a few last date nights together before we become parents.
Date night dressing when you’re preggers is a bit different than when you’re not. It’s not quite as easy to throw on a skin-baring LBD, and it’s often hard to feel sexy (especially during these last few weeks when I’ve started to become uncomfortable and swell up a bit!). Luckily Mackenzie has been so sweet and always makes me feel beautiful, and I’ve given myself quite a few pep talks while getting dressed for a night out that help me to just go for it. Whether you’re pregnant or not, if you’re experiencing a dip in self esteem – know that you’re perfect just as you are, and that looking/feeling sexy is really just about confidence and playing up your best features!
For date night at 9 months, I went for this body-hugging maxi dress which made my legs look elongated (and I must say, accented my new preggo bust quite nicely, lolz). To add the fun factor to my look while still being comfortable, I went for pops of rich royal blue and gold. I’m loving this color for Winter, so I coordinated this chic blazer, pumps and clutch to jazz up the simplicity of the dress. I’ve learned that when you’re pregnant (or really if you’re just not feeling very comfortable about your body in general), fun accessories and color schemes can be a life saver, as they really are the stars of the show. Coupled with some tousled waves and a smokey eye, this look was just sexy enough for date night while still making me feel comfortable and covered up. Shop my look below!

xx,
Love this post! I’m 6.5 months pregnant and it is so hard to feel good about yourself and get dressed up! Thank you for sharing your journey through this and congratulations!
You listed every item you’re wearing except the earrings. Who makes them? They’re gorgeous.
