Ask Louise: The Perfect T Shirt Bra

“What kind of bra would be best to wear under a slightly transparent, white T-shirt?” — Latoya Vermass Choosing the right undies is just as important as the clothes you wear on top. The right underwear can completely change your silhouette, your posture, and your confidence levels. Every woman should […]

Royal Blue

You guys know how much I love wearing a bright hue (case in point here), but I’ll never tire of sharing it as a major styling tip! Bold pops of color give so much life to outfits, especially when Fall days start to get a little grey. Royal blue has always […]

Sweater Weather

When it comes to style staples, roll-neck sweaters are definitely one of mine! It’s hard to beat their chic simplicity and their comfort. This neutral toned cashmere knit from Hayden is exactly what I’m looking for for fall. Autumnal colors like this brown, taupe or burnt orange (one of my […]

Florals For Fall

Every now and then, an outfit comes along that is both totally timeless and perfectly current. I felt that way about the floral dress and suede boots I wore in New York last week! Separately, each item could be worn year round (well, in Los Angeles, at least) but together, […]

Celebrating London Fashion Week With BFC

I love supporting up-and-coming talent in the fashion industry. Being a fashion journalist and a TV presenter both in the US and UK, I’m always on the look out for new designers, especially on the ready-to-wear scenes. When eBay approached me about the BFC Contemporary Shop, I was thrilled to […]

ASK LOUISE: Fall Must Haves

“What do women have to have in their closet this fall/winter?” — @chantalbooi Lots of color! Unlike many Fall seasons, when there’s a ton of black and grey out there, this year is all about mixing your jeans or black pants with major brights. Fuschia, orange, emerald green, mustard, and scarlet […]

Fall Colors, Fun Prints at Clover Canyon

I adore colors and prints — they liven up everything, including grey days in NYC. I wore this skirt and top set from Clover Canyon to the brand’s Fashion Week presentation, and I must say, it was one of my favorite looks of the whole week! Burnt orange is one […]

Indian Summer in Brooklyn

New York City was having a major heatwave during my last visit, so I took advantage of a morning off work and headed to Brooklyn. I donned a casual outfit, I had a lot of walking to do! Loose shorts, flats sandals and this adorable blouse, and navigated my way […]

Brightening Up Fashion Week

One afternoon of Fashion Week was particularly overcast, and I used it as an opportunity to dress up in this bold blue jumpsuit. I loved everything about it; the head-to-toe color block, the transparent capelet and, of course, how comfortable it was! Jumpsuits can be a great option for a […]

  • Happy Mother’s Day!
I want to dedicate this post to one of my dearest friends, who became a Mummy to premature surrogate twins this year, only to tragically lose them a few hours later, as she held them in her arms. My friend had been through years of trying for a baby through IVF, and finally - after years of hope and patience - we all felt her and her husband’s dream of becoming parents was about to come true.
That heart-breaking day also happened to be the date Honor was born, so the poignancy was all the sharper. I still remember the moment I learned the news. My own mum was with me, and we wept silently, hugging.
I fully expected my friend to avoid Mackenzie and I for a while, to deal with her grief. Surely being around a newborn would just be too much. But testament to her angelic, brave character, she asked to come over. I’ll never forget the warmth and love in her eyes as she held Honor tight. She said she was full of hope. She said that the twins would be watching over, helping and guiding them on their continued journey to have a baby.
You’d think that would be enough to focus on, but no. Instead, this wonderful couple decided to set up @pompomsandstardust , a charity not only raising money to help other people have surrogate children, but one that offers crucial (and lacking) advice and support to the ‘IP’s’ (intended parents), along their journey.
If you or your loved ones have been through a difficult time conceiving, my heart goes out to you- I wish you strength, perseverance- and please feel free to share your story below.
The charity website will be up soon with more information, but for now follow @pompomsandstardust 💫
