What To Wear When Winter Isn’t Coming

Every time I get excited to put my Fall wardrobe to use, LA weather changes on me again. Maybe this makes me weird, but while so many people come to LA for the sunny weather, I love when it gets chilly and rainy here. There’s nothing cozier than snuggling up in sweaters and boots – but when it’s hot and humid out, that’s unfortunately the last thing you want to wear (especially while 7 months pregnant). So in order to bask in the last few days of the heat before it becomes a little chillier, I’ve been wearing a lot of maxi dresses. They’re a comfortable and easy throw-on piece if you’re preggers, but just as cute if you’re not. They also provide a bit more coverage than the mini length dresses I was sporting over summer, and can transform into a cute nighttime piece with the right denim or leather jacket and heels.

I paired this blue patterned maxi dress with some warm burnt orange and brown accent accessories to create a subtle color palette for Autumn. Styling tip: if your dress is more on the simple side, wear some statement jewelry to elevate your overall look. I’ve been loving Rebecca de Ravenal’s bonbon earrings, they just add enough of a “wow” factor if I don’t feel like going all-out with my look. For the bag, I went with a more casual and versatile shoulder bag that could fit a lot of my daily essentials. As for the shoes, anything goes as long as we remember comfort is key! Mules are still my go-to shoe before it’s too cold to show my toes. Shop my look below!
