Just Married! Beginning Our Newlywed Holiday Traditions

The holidays are always my favorite time of year, but especially in 2016, as this time around I’m a Mrs! I usually get in the mood for festive decorating and cooking once Halloween hits, but this year it seems more exciting and meaningful as we create newlywed holiday traditions together as our own little family. I’m making sure to put a personal touch on all our gift wrapping, holiday cards, and even sending customized gifts to our family and friends.

I’m especially excited to send out our holiday card this year, which has our wedding photo and a greeting from us, with my new last name (The Hunkins!). It all seems so surreal, and I’m having so much fun doing it. Mackenzie has been teasing me for how festive and enthusiastic I’m getting, but I know he secretly loves it. After all, it means more pumpkin bread for him! I’ve been getting some help from Shutterfly, which has the cutest options for customized cards and gifts. With cards, you can choose everything from the shape of the card, to the fonts and design of the envelope. And with gifting, you can even create personalized stockings (these particular ones were actually designed by Drew Barrymore for her new Shutterfly line – I’ll be sending some to my nieces and nephews), plus even mugs and wine bags (which make the perfect little hostess present for holiday parties). The best thing about Shutterfly is that almost every detail can be customized, which really puts that personal touch on each gift, card and stocking stuffer you choose. Check out Shutterfly and their amazing options for holiday cards, newlywed greeting cards, and personalized gifts for the holidays!

  4. I just got married too – last Monday! – and I have never celebrated Christmas with my family, even as a child. I was exactly thinking about the fact that we need to start our own way to celebrate the holidays ^_^
