Why You Need A Separate Neck Cream

As you guys might know, I’m big on using natural (non-invasive) solutions to anti-aging. While it may seem obvious to many of us to take good care of the skin on our face, did you know that your neck ages even faster? The skin on your neck is thinner and more delicate, making it more susceptible to wrinkles over time. Growing up, my mum was always very vigilant with protecting her neck and hands (she always said that’s how you can tell a woman’s real age – and she was right!), and Mum thankfully passed down the same knowledge to me. I thought I’d share with you guys the tips I’ve just learned about fighting aging in this delicate area. So here’s my guide to achieving a younger- looking neck at any age.

Just this year, I read about a new phenomenon that is affecting many of us in this modern technology-obsessed world, called “Tech Neck”. On average, we look down on at our devices a shocking 221 times a day, at least! This repetitive motion of looking down at our smartphones and computers can lead to horizontal lines and aging on the neck area. Even with all of the moisturizing I’ve done over the years, I noticed some fine lines starting to form more recently. Sometimes I feel like I’m constantly answering emails, I don’t even want to know how many times a day I look down at my phone (I’m probably more in the 500 range)! Also, being a freelance fashion writer, I often work from home, sometimes for very long hours, looking up and down from my laptop as well.

Before I found StriVectin, it hadn’t even occurred to me that you should use a product specifically designed for your neck, but it makes total sense. I’ve started using StriVectin TL Advanced Tightening Neck Cream and noticed results within a few weeks. I definitely felt like the skin on my neck was softer and tighter.. I even noticed some lessening of some of the horizontal lines that had started forming there. I’m definitely keeping this one in my arsenal – the rollerball version even accompanied me in my carry-on during fashion week, where I tend to look down at my phone a crazy amount posting tons of pics on my social media. Plus the texture is to die for, and smells great.

So, how can you fight aging on your neck? Firstly, always remember to drink tons of water, and take Omega-3’s like fish oil daily to keep your skin hydrated. Secondly, wear sunscreen – never forget the neck! Remember to look up (this is another one of Mrs. Roe’s nuggets!) But it helps keep you youthful in more ways than one. Looking up not only keeps your neck elongated and flexible, but it allows you to see above and beyond the flashing lights on your screen. Noticing the pretty chimneys on buildings or the birds in the sky, gives an immediate sense of perspective, and calm. Lastly, invest in a good anti-aging product – StriVectin is my favorite treatment that is designed for this delicate area.
