The temperature here in LA has been slowly creeping upwards, but every so often, the clouds haze over in the mornings and it’s chilly enough to throw on a sweater and jeans for morning errands. With all of our wedding planning going on this year, the seasons seem to be flying by, and I know fall will be here any minute (and our wedding too, eek!).
I’ve been thinking about transitional outfits that can withstand the seasons, and layering is always key. I love the summery feel of white boyfriend jeans, but you can easily dress them for colder weather by layering a cashmere sweater and suede jacket, topped off with edgy statement boots. I wanted warm, camel tones head-to-toe and even paired tortoiseshell shades for the overall look. This tonal vibe can be recreated in just about any color scheme, but I loved the white and caramel tones against the greens of Isabel Marant’s cactus garden on Melrose Place (I always love walking by here for some garden inspo – we are redoing ours). Such a desert vibe color palette!
This look is very LA to me – everyone here has the casual power lunch meeting look mastered. There’s something so impressive about being able to convey a confident and cool sophistication through a relatively casual outfit.
