As an honorary California girl I’ve adopted a particular beauty trend that you’ll see me wearing on most days, even when I head back to foggy England: warm, bronzed skin. It just gives life to your face, even during the dreariest of winters. I wanted to share with you guys some of my favorite products and tips for achieving just the right amount of that, “I just got back from vacation” glow.
It’s all about highlighting your brow and cheek bones, while bronzing and adding color to the apples and hollows of your cheeks. You don’t want to use too much bronzer, as it can look unnatural in the middle of Winter. The first product I usually use is my all time favorite beauty secret: Mac Strobe Cream. I learned about it from a friend I was filming with one day – her skin looked younger, awake and refreshed, so I had to ask what her secret was. Strobe cream! The trick is to apply it on your cheekbones, brown bones and down the center of your nose, on top of serum but underneath your makeup. Then apply your primer and foundation as usual – the strobe cream will pick up the light and shine through, it’s awesome.
I also love to use Mac bronzing powder in the hollows of my cheeks and even on the sides of my nose for definition (Beauty tip: squeeze your powder brush between two fingers to make it flat, and use on the sides of your nose to get some easy contour). Finally, I add lots of shimmer with my Ambient Lighting Palette by Hourglass to finish off the look. Thanks to Go Priv for helping me put this look together and getting me camera ready for a shoot in under 30 mins! (Have you guys heard of this yet? It’s a fab app that lets you book different services right from your phone, and lovely peeps show up at your house within minutes to do hair, makeup, nails…the lot.)
