A well stocked bar is an entertaining essential, one that every home should have. It is, after all, a place to get the party started, right? And, it looks so chic! While I have a few go-to cocktails, I also love mixing up new ones with friends. Whether your home bar is a cool antique cart from the flea market or a modern piece from your favorite home store, here are some things to stock it with for last-minute entertaining.
Spirits: Always opt for the classics; Gin, Tequila, Vodka, Whiskey, Vermouth and Rum are the spirits I go through most at home. I have my favorite brands, but I also look for labels with a vintage feel.
Additives: My must-haves include lemon verbena, fresh basil, mint, lemons or limes in a bowl or little vase, fresh ginger, and lavender.
Tools: When I’m whipping up cocktails, I always find myself reaching for my shaker, hawthorne strainer, cocktail stirrer, and citrus juicer.
Glassware: If you’re anything like me, form is just as important as function. For my home bar, I invested in some printed bowls and beautiful gold accent glassware – conversation pieces that I just love looking at.
